Millie and I were having a rock eating contest with these, they are so good since they are made of chocolate.

Also finished sorting the pictures and printing a lot of them so that I could start my 8 x 8 mini album. Good thing for old typewriters, you just roll the page in and hack away.

Apple butter

Thanks to Melanie, we learned how to make apple butter. Last night, Detlef peeled the apples (a job I hate).
The peeled and chopped apples were then placed in the slow cooker. We added brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and chopped cloves.
We left the slow cooker on during the night for approximately 11 hours and in the morning it was ready.
And as you can see, it was delicious. Yummy!
Lecker!

We're back home

and still sleepless. Besides the shock to the 9 hour time difference is the cold weather here. This is what we got to see after a night of only 4 hours sleep. Looks beautiful though.

Sleepless in Seattle

No, not at all, don't have time to sleep, too busy to take in everything in this beautiful area. More pics will follow later.
Michaels, Joanne's, Impressions, Mad Scrapper, Hip to b Square, Stampin Up ...... und die herrliche Gegend.

The Donna Downey workshop

was in Linsengericht. What a funny name for a town, translated it says: lentil dish. But Donna Downey was there at the Scrapbook Werkstatt and I did the canvas album workshop. Donna is such a friendly person, she hugged me and then she asked: is that Bronx I hear. It was so funny. I thought I had long ago lost that Bronx accent and reverted totally to a German accent. Well, it's nice to still know what toity toit street is, smile, and I guess I am not completely "germinated".

This was the beautiful hotel that I spent a night in before I started the workshop in the morning.

View from my window during the day and at night.

Those are my "started" pages for the album. I will finish them in a couple of weeks ;-). Now I now what Gesso is used for and I also learned to work with relief paste on canvas.
