Advent, Advent

das erste Lichtlein brennt.  Am Freitag habe ich dann diesen Adventskranz gebastelt.

Now it's Advent 1st already and today we lit the first candle of the Advent wreath that I had made on Friday.

 

Gerade noch habe ich es geschafft, hier in unserem neuen Zuhause weihnachtlich zu dekorieren.  Fast eine Woche lang standen die Weihnachtsdeko Kartons im Wohnzimmer und ich zauderte immer wieder, diese überhaupt zu öffnen..... denn ich hatte die Schnau..  wirklich voll vom Auspacken. 

 

It was high time that I decorated our new surroundings.  A whole week the Christmas decoration boxes stood in the living room and I kept on hesitating.  I was really sick of unpacking again. 

Als ich mich dann endlich aufgerafft hatte, bekam ganz furchtbare Zahnschmerzen.  Und ja, ich gebe es zu, ich hab furchtbaren Bammel vor dem Zahnarzt.  So schleppte ich mich am Freitag durch das Wohnzimmer und dekorierte in der Hoffnung dass mich das von meinem Schmerz ablenkt.  Meine Freundin Edda hat mich am Abend dann so ausgeschimpft, dass ich am Samstagabend zum Notdienst des hiesigen Zahnarztes gegangen bin.  Für den Zahn war es zu spät, ein total vereiterter Weisheitszahn der gezogen werden musste. 

And then, after I finally became inspired, I got a horrible toothache.  It was so bad, but I kept on crawling around putting up holiday  things and hoping to distract the pain while decorating.  My girlfriend Edda scolded with me on Friday evening and told me to go to the dentist asap.  I have to admit that I have a horrible fear of the dentist, but on Saturday the pain was so bad that I went to the dentist in town, he had emergency services over the Weekend.  It was "high time".  The tooth (a wisdom tooth) was infected and had to come out.

Heute Morgen war ich nochmal zur Nachkontrolle und danach sind wir mal über den winzigen Christkindl Markt im Ort geschlendert.  Der Weihnachtsmarkt ist da erst nächste Woche und irgendwo hinzufahren, hatte ich nach gestern Abend heute wirklich noch keine Lust.

This morning I went for a check up and after that we strolled over a small Christkindl Market here in town.  Next week they are having a Christmas Market.  I wasn't in any mood to drive to one of the many markets that are all over Germany now and enjoyed staying home. 

Noch 18 Tage und dann sind sie hier die Kinder.  Meine Weihnachtskarten (alles Aufträge) habe ich erledigt, eigene habe ich noch nicht gemacht, hm!  Vielleicht wird es ein Foto, mal schauen, heute möchte ich mich auf jeden Fall nicht mit der Backe fotografieren :-).

 In 18 days the Kids will be here.  Finished my Christmas Cards (all of them orders), haven't made any for myself yet.  Maybe we'll do a Photocard, but not today, not with this fat cheek.
