and then Jamie will be here. It will be her first time to see the Christmas Season in Germany and to experience the smells and tastes of the Christmas Markets. I finally started decorating and doing my overseas cards so I can spend all my time with Jamie. Detlef will be off from work during Jamie's visit and a mini-trip to Munich is also planned and booked. Another first for Jamie, a ride in the German railway system. I made two albums (twins again) to record Jamie's stay here. That way she and I will have pictures to remember this Christmas Season of 2008.

And not to forget, here is a picture of Daphne and I at the Craft Market where we displayed our cards and albums and other things we had made.

In 7 Tagen ist Jamie da. Zum ersten Mal wird sie die Weihnachtsmärkte in Deutschland erleben - und auch Glühwein (smile). Ich habe auch endlich mit dem dekorieren angefangen, bin dabei meine US Weihnachtskarten fertig zu machen damit ich viel Zeit für Jamie habe. Detlef hat sich 2 Wochen frei genommen und wir haben auch eine kleine mini-Reise nach München geplant. Unsere Freundin Christa hat uns eingeladen. Auch ein erstes Mal für Jamie in einem Zug hier zu fahren. Ich habe gleich 2 Alben vorgescrappt (Zwillinge) damit wir all diese Erlebnisse festhalten können.

The final count down

The craft fair is almost here and I am extremely busy making cards and albums for the event. Our whole living room has been turned into a workshop and I haven't had any time for blogging.

Der Hobbykünstlermarkt ist fast hier und ich bin im Endspurt meine Karten und Alben für nächsten Samstag und Sonntag anzufertigen. Unser Wohnzimmer sieht aus wie eine Werkstatt und ich hatte keine Zeit mehr Einträge in meinen blog zu machen.

A "bug" caught me

Been wanting to post, but a bug named flu got a hold of me and kept me housebound for almost 10 days. But now almost back to normal, here is a picture of the first impression of fall we had at the beautiful Mosel river. Now that I am getting better, more pictures will follow.
Ein grippeähnlicher Virus hatte mich die letzten 10 Tage fest im Griff und so komme ich erst heute dazu ein Foto von den ersten Herbsteindrücken in der Mosel zu veröffentlichen. Jetzt wo es mir besser geht, kommt bald mehr.

Christmas in September

Although fall just started, it's starting to look a lot like Christmas in our apartment. Started making my cards and albums for a local craft fair. The weather is just right for that, a little dreary outside and making it bright inside with candles and crafts.

Obwohl gerade der Herbst angefangen hat, sieht es bei uns in der Wohnung schon etwas weihnachtlich aus. Ich habe angefangen meine Karten und Alben für den Hobbykünstlermarkt im November zu machen. Das Wetter ist auch gerade richtig dafür, draussen trüb und hier drinnen hell mit Kerzenschein und weihnachtlichen "Glitzer" (das Wort ist meiner Freundin Daphne gewidment :-).

I hate "Good byes"

Why do they call them good bye. There is nothing good about it. Saturday Jamie left to fly back to the States and the apartment is pretty empty. First Millie and Melanie had brought plenty of life into our little place and then Jamie came and had me go shopping with her for two weeks. So I keep on telling myself that with every good bye comes a hello again ---- the next time they visit.

Am Samstag habe ich mal wieder good bye gesagt. Dabei ist bei einem Abschied doch gar nichts Gutes dabei. Erst waren Melanie und Millie hier und hatten viel Leben in unsere kleine Bude gebracht und dann kam Jamie und hielt mich "auf Achse" mit shopping trips für 2 Wochen. So sag ich mir nun dass mit jedem Abschied auch wieder ein Hallo kommt --- das nächste Mal wenn sie auf Besuch kommen.

It's been a busy July and August so far. First I went to England to visit the three M's (Melanie, Mike and Millie) and then came back with the M&M's (Melanie and Millie) and some real peanut butter M&M's.

They stayed for a week and then daughter Number 2 Jamie came and is still here.

Juli und August hatten und haben mich immer noch fest im Griff. Zuerst war ich in England um die drei M's (Melanie, Mike und Millie) zu besuchen. Die M&M's (Melanie und Millie) und noch ein paar essbare peanut butter M&M's habe ich mit nach Deutschland zurück gebracht. Die "lebendigen" blieben eine Woche und hielten mich auf Trapp. Eine Woche Ruhe und dann kam Tochter Nummer 2 Jamie aus USA und sie ist noch hier. Die Fotos sprechen für sich selbst.
