A visit to the Botanical Garden

I must admit I had never been to the Botanical Garden here in town.  It is very close to where we live and so Detlef and I decided to go and visit the place.  It is very small, but still big enough to take some good photos.

Schämend muss ich gestehen, dass ich noch nie im Würzburger Botanischen Garten war, und dabei ist der ja praktisch fast ums Eck.  Also entschieden Detlef und ich uns gestern mal schnell dahin zu fahren.  Er ist nicht gross, aber gut genug um ein paar Fotos zu machen. 

Freitags Füller

Heute ist der 100. Freitags-Füller bei Scrap Impulse  und da bin ich heute auch nach langer Zeit mal wieder dabei.

1. Eigentlich wäre es schön mal wieder meine kleine Millie in den Armen zu halten.

2. Das Wort lächerlich heisst im Englischen ridiculous.

3. Gestern abend konnte ich wegen einer Migräne nicht so viel machen und habe heute leider immer noch Kopfschmerzen.

4. Mein Kinder wohnen so weit weg und das belastet mich manchmal sehr.

5. Ich könnte niemals ohne Frühstück in den Tag starten .

6. Ich glaube ich würde arg faul werden wenn ich einen eigenen Koch hätte denn neue Rezepte selbst zu probieren macht doch viel mehr Spass.

7. Was das Wochenende angeht, heute Abend freue ich mich auf einen hoffentlich Kopfschmerzfreien Ausklang , morgen habe ich einen Ikea Besuch geplant und Sonntag möchte ich mit meinem Mann einfach nur faul sein!

Back in action

After slouching 2 days on the couch while not feeling up to par, I am back to feeling more normal today.  Well, I baked a lemon cake this morning and while it was in the oven, I made a tea light candle card with springy colors and self-made roses.

Nachdem ich 2 Tage mehr öfters als weniger auf der Couch herumgelümmelt habe weil ich mich einfach nicht gut fühlte, bin ich heute wieder etwas mehr auf Trapp.  Nachdem ich heute morgen einen Kuchen gebacken hatte und während der im Ofen vor sich heran wuchs, machte ich eine Teelichterkarte mit etwas Frühlingsfarben und zwei selbstgemachten Rosen.

A hole in the wall

is the theme for this layout.... and, of course, starring Millie.  For this I used papier from Rayher "Brick Wall".

Das Loch in der Wand mit meiner Hauptdarstellerin, die kleine Millie.  Das Papier "Brick Wall" von Rayher passte daher gut dazu.

Once upon a Time

Es war einmal.... so fangen Märchen an.  Und die kleine Millie ist meine Märchenprinzessin.

Lots of stories start with "Once upon a time".  Little Millie is my fairy princess in this layout.

The Secret Forest

ist das neueste layout von mir.  Und da ich auch so unheimlich gerne male, habe ich es diesmal mit einem layout incorporiert.  Ich habe einfach mit "Americana" Acryl Farben um das Foto herum gemalt.  Aussen nähte ich einen Bogen Papier von Chatterbox dazu den ich dann aufgerissen habe. 

This is my latest layout. Since I also love to paint, I incorporated it in my layout.  I used Americana Acrylic Paint and painted a forest around the picture of Millie.  Detlef had done the scene with the mushroom.  on the outside I sewed a 12 x 12 papier from chatterbox and ribbed it open to create this effect.

Ton-in-Ton

Heute habe ich mal eine Ton-in-Ton Karte probiert.

Today I made a card with just one color. 

Green hearts and a rose

Appropriate for Valentine's Day we had green spinach hearts for supper. 

Passend zum Valentine's Tag hatten wir heute grüne Spinatherzen.

Detlef brought home this beautiful rose for me.

Von meinem Schatz erhielt ich diese wunderschöne Rose.

Memories

heisst das MiniAlbum welches ich für meinen Cousin (Kusin, Vetter) angefertigt habe. Nachdem ich "beim Stöbern" auf einige ganz alte Fotos gestossen war wo mein Cousin als Kind darauf ist, seine Eltern (sein Papa war der Bruder von meinem Papa) und die Grosseltern, dachte ich mir dass dies eine schöne Erinnerung für ihn sein wird. Morgen kommt es in die Post. (Auf die kleinen Fotos zur Vergrösserung drücken)
Die alte Schrift hinten auf den Fotos habe ich eingescannt und immer mit dem Foto hingeklebt.

I scanned in the writing on the back of the pics and pasted it with the photo in the album to preserve the original handwriting.


Made an album for my cousin. While sorting through some old pics, I found some of him, his family (his father was the brother of my father) and his grand parents. So yesterday I made this mini album and tomorrow it will go in the mail. A click on the smaller pics will make them bigger.

Zurück aus München

und gleich wieder "voll im kreativ sein". Detlef musste zu einem Lehrgang in die Nähe von Salzburg und da bin ich mitgefahren und bei Christa in München geblieben. Schön war es bei ihr und wir waren zusammen in der Stempeloase. Dort gibt es ja auch so viele schöne Sachen und natürlich musste ich jetzt zuhause wieder etwas Platz für meine "Beute" finden, denn es gab noch andere tolle Läden wo ich fündig wurde. Wie durch Zufall entdeckten Christa und ich in einem Münchner Aldi diese Aufbewahrungsboxen. Sie passen haargenau auf mein Regal und ich habe sofort wieder "Ordnung" dort geschaffen.

I am back from Munich. Detlef had a class near Salzburg, so I went with him and stayed with Christa in Munich for a few days. We went to the "Stempeloase", a small scrapbooking store, but packed full with so many wonderful things, plus there are so many stores in Munich where you can find "goodies". After I got home, I needed to sort my new stuff and make some room. It came in so handy when Christa and I had strolled through an Aldi Store in Munich and found these folding boxes. They fit so perfectly on my shelves and after moving a few things around, I got that corner of the room organized.

Abends mache ich weiter mit meinen Zierdeckchen die ich dann als Hintergrund für meine Fotos nehmen möchte. Ausserdem hat meine Tochter schon ein paar für sich beansprucht, die schicke ich nächste Woche in die USA.

In the evening I continue making doilies to use as a background for photos. Melanie also asked for some, so I will mail them to her next week.

Kommunion/Konfirmations Karten

Gestern und heute habe ich ein paar Kommunion/Konfirmations Karten gemacht. Damit habe ich mich ziemlich schwer getan, da viele Leute bei religiösen Themen verschiedene Geschmäcker haben. Aber nach einigen Überlegungen hat es dann doch geklappt und ich hoffe dass sie dann auch dem "Besteller" gefallen werden.

An aquaintance wanted some Communion and Confirmation cards. I had a real hard time creating these since people have such different tastes with religious themes. After thinking back and forth, I had a few ideas and hope that they come across okay.

Old recipe

Beim Stöbern durch ein altes Kochbuch noch von meiner Mutter habe ich ein handgeschriebenes Rezept meiner Oma gefunden. Und da ich ja auch schon ein etwas altes Mädel bin, kann ich sagen dass dieses Orginal Rezept uralt ist. Ich habe es eingescannt und werde das bei einigen Scrapbook Sachen als Hintergrund benutzen.

As I was looking through an old cook book still from my mom, I discovered an old handwritten recipe from my grandmother. I am an "older" gal, so believe me, this is a real old recipe. I scanned it in and will use it as a background for some of my scrapbooking projects.

Snow hound

Daisy liebte den Schnee solange er da war. Und das Foto vom letzten Schneefall habe ich nun verscrappt.

Ich brauchte ausserdem noch etwas wo ich meine breiteren Bänder aufbewahren kann. Und da mein Mann so kreativ mit Holz ist, hat er mir diese Regale gemacht aus 2 Wandschränken von Ikea und das ganze etwas abgewandelt (ohne Türen) und somit habe ich jetzt auch diese Bänder geordnet im Blick.

I also needed something where I could store my wider ribbons. At Ikea we found 2 little hanging closets. Detlef changed them around a bit, removed the doors and made it so it would hold the ribbons without them rolling off.
